Noted events in her life were: • fact. Around 1525 or 1526, Henry VIII became enamoured of Anne and began his pursuit of her. Anne resisted the King's attempts to seduce her and refused to become his mistress, as her sister, Mary Bolyn, had done. It soon became the one absorbing object of the King's desires to secure an annulment from his wife, Catherine of Aragon so he could marry Anne. When it became clear that Pope Clement VII was unlikely to give Henry an annulment, the breaking of the power of the Roman Catholic Church in England began. Anne married Henry VIII House of Tudor, son of Henry VII Tudor King of England Lord of Ireland and Elizabeth of York. (Henry VIII House of Tudor was born on 28 Jun 1491 in Greenwich Palace, London England and died on 28 Jan 1547 in Palace of Whitehall, London England.) |
