• source & fact. My name is Peter Calderwood Gillies (Peter to by friends!) and I see that I am ensconced on your family tree, along with my mother, Mona. I suspect this is because my father, Melville Calderwood Gillies (who lived in Australia between 1921 and 1938, where he changed his name to Robert (Bob) Gillies) was married to his first wife there - Margaret Rose Shackel - up in Lismore. I have their marriage certificate, so I'm pretty sure about this fact - as well as several photographs of the happy couple from that time. I also have my father's birth certificate, which is pretty clear in the fact that he was born in Manchester, England - which is also shown on the NSW marriage certificate of "Bob" and Margaret as being his place of birth.
