John and his younger brother Alex came to Canada in 1906 and 1908 respectively. My husband and I have just been on a journey from the US visiting John and Margaret's gravesites in Kamloops, British Columbia and tracking their day to day lives through the Masonic Lodge and local Museum. Alex Nicol lived in Central Saanich near Victoria BC Canada.
Growing up I was close to my Grandfather and corresponded with him throughout my young adult life, but really knew so little of his heritage until I began my searches some 3 years ago and 40+ years after his death.
