The Warby Ranges around Wangaratta are named after the Warby family. They were known to be sympathetic to the Kelly Gang. The Kellys would leave their horses at the Warby farm and take fresh horses, and then return again to swap the horses over again after they had been rested. My mother recalls a lot of this as she was close to her grandmother, Elizabeth Brien.
