Moved from Cambridge to Huddersfield as a boy and then to Rastrick upon his marriage. After major heart attack at age 54, he had 2 more milder attacks before moving, with his wife, to live with son John and family in Cleckheaton where he died. Interred 14/04/1977, on what would have been his 64th birthday, at Fixby Crematorium, Rastrick, Brighouse, West Yorkshire.
