In 1824 William petitioned Sir Thomas Brisbane for an extension to his grant of 30 acres which he had cultivated and on which he had 14 head of horned cattle. Samuel Marsden described him as an 'industriuos man'. He was granted the extra land in July 1824.
William applied to Sir Thomas Brisbane for a building allotment to build a four room cottage near Brokenback Bridge as he was one of the contractors for the steam engine to be erected there.
William was granted 80 acres at Menangle on 19 Oct 1831. The property was later called 'Mount View'.


William married Elizabeth Bradley on 13 Jun 1814 in Parramatta, Sydney, NSW Australia. (Elizabeth Bradley was born in 1796 in England UK and died on 20 Oct 1870 in NSW Australia.)
