  General Notes:

Married Martha Jane at residence Caerleon, Mudgee being Weslyans. Also see notes from Emily (Tuppy) Cameron, attached.*** From Family Tree notes by Tuppy Cameron ***Asked by a cousin how the Macleans were connected with the "Henry Crossing s"before Herbert's and Garnet's marriages, I had fortunately earlier readAnnabella Boswell's remanences in which she mentioned her mother, Mrs Innes, helping the Macleans of Capertee at the Christening of their first child Ian,as the Macleans spoke little English only Gaelic and her mother could alsospeak Gaelic. Ian was always known as Jonathon and, having heard my fatherspeak of "Old Jonathon Maclean" asked Amy Smith (once of Caerleon, Mudgee)later known as the "Wavertrees" of Neutral Bay. She told me Donald, thesecond son, married her aunt, Mary Smith, sister (possibly) of Martha, Henry'swife. There were other sons and daughters - Donald's daughter, Kate, marriedMurray Davidson, son of the Surveyor General - 4 daughters of the marriage ;Chrisie (not married), Booty (who married Herbert Crossing), Florence (marrieda Mr Rodd) and Olive who died when young. The property, Glen Alice, Amy told me was left by Donald to hisgranddaughters, their mother dying early. Remember Booty telling me when Icommented on some needlework, she was brought up by very strict Aunts.Annabel's father owned Glen Alice at that time and built the home, am to ld itis now a stud. Amy also told me of the marvellous times she spent at Cape rteewhen about 10 - except on Sundays - no one was allowed to do anything. S he gotinto great trouble once for picking peaches, though she picked them regula rlyweekdays. The Macleans came from Skye and even in 1964, no wheeled vehicl ewas allowed on the roads on Sundays, so all in our tour just sat around orwalked, nor are photos of their homes allowed and many other restrictions. To return to the Macleans in the next generation, I think it would be - th ereare 2 Floras, possible cousins. Mr Bloodworth, who knew them well, toldmethey were known as Cocoa Flora from a creek of that name on which thproperty was situated and the Crown Flora who married Dr Munro, had one s on anddaughter. The son was killed in 1940 War, a great grief to Mrs Munro. Sh edied shortly after. All this may be of interest to the Henry Crossingdescendants. [Compiled by Emily Lesley (Tuppy) Cameron,1980]
