Miriam Lasslett Best - born 9th October 1901 at Park Road Burwood daughter of Ida Emily Lena Best, father not indicated, Ida provided the information on the birth certificate. Miriam was placed in the care of the Dalmar childrens' home soon after birth and Ida married about a year later in Wagga Wagga.

Before Ida married Frederick Croaker she had a daughter in Sydney. She was aged 17. The child was named Miriam Lasslett and was adopted out. A copy of the birth certificate is attached. As Lasslett is a rather uncommon name and the only Lasslett males living in Sydney at that time were my Grandfather and his father I suspect that Miriam may have been my great aunt.

I send this in case you ever get an inquiry from Miriam's descendants who may want information on the Lasslett family. We were originally from Nantwich in Cheshire but left about 1545 to take up farm lands near Canterbury in Kent.
