George Borland Dunkin

George was named after his father's business partner and friend. • Occupation. he worked with horses when a youth and in 1888 was working as a saddler. Later he became a plasterer and worked for some years for his brother-in-law John Francis Williams. • Resided. On 24 Jan 1888 he purchased a 1/2 acre block of land in Canambe Street between Galway and Kentucky Streets at a Crown Land auction. It adjoined similar blocks owned by his brother John, Charles and Thomas. At the time of the 1901 census he was living in O'Dell St.. George married Henrietta (Effie) Hurst on 25 Aug 1901 in St Peters C of E Cathedral, Armidale, NSW Australia. (Henrietta (Effie) Hurst was born circa 1880 and died 1970s in Armidale, NSW Australia.) |
