Charles travelled to Sydney on the ship Northampton with his mother who was a convict and his siblings Rebecca and Mary. It sailed from Portsmouth on 1 Jan 1815. The master was John O. Tween. The ship arrived in Sydney on 18 Jun 1815. They were all taken to the female factory at Parramatta. Charles would have been 3 years old on the voyage.
