Jeremiah lived at Warehorne near Ashford in Kent prior to embarkation. He arrived in Souith Australia on the "Trusty" on 15th May 1838 with his wife. Both were free settlers. He purchased sections 484 and 485 in Clarenden. In 1840 the property was listed as having 6 acres oats that failed, and water was obtained from large water holes. There was also a substantial lath and plaster dwelling. By 1844 Jeremiah had 255 cattle, 18 horses, 60 acres wheat, 10 acres oats, 5 acres maize and 2 acres garden. On the advise of Caleb Mitchell, he and his brother Richard divided one of theirtwo 80 acre blocks in 1846 for the township of Clarendon. Jeremiah was also a Presbyterian Minister. He was aged 75 at Death.
