Mary was convicted in the Dorset Gaol Delivery on the 12 March 1807. She was sentenced to death reprieved, and she was to be transported for life. Mary Rogers was committed for trial by J. H. Browne, Esq. charged with stealing out of the house of John Parker of Chickerell, money, notes and bills, to the value of nineteen pounds, twelve shillings, and six-pence - Warrant dated 27 September 1806.
Mary sailed from Falmouth, ENG on the 18 May 1808 on the ship "Speke" arriving in Sydney, NSW on the 15 November 1808. The trip took 182 days. On embarkation there were 182 male and 99 female convicts female died on the voyage) The ships master was one John Hingston, and the ships surgeon was J MacMillan. The ship weighed 473 tons and was built in Calcutta in 1790.

The Charge
Mary Ann Rogers age 19 years was committed by J.H. Browne,. Esq. charged with stealing out of the house of John Parker of Chickerill, money, notes and bills, to the value of nineteen pounds, twelve shillings, and sixpence - Warrant dated the 27th September 1806.
Sentence
Mary Ann Rogers was sentenced to death, reprieved to be transported to New South Wales as a Felon for the Term of her Life.
