Noted events in his life were:

• source. Ray Storey who writes:
*Family lore always referred to the devastation of 1891 as "the plague". According to death certificates online, the disease that decimated the family was influenza following diphtheria (also cause of death for Emma Arnold) Mom gathered names and ages from Greenwood Cemetery. English Census 1851: R.B. is no longer at home in Nafferton and no 17-year-old Robert Storey is listed anywhere in England (In 1851, 10 year old Mary lives in Burton Agnes - 3 miles down the main road from Nafferton). A Robert Storey (age listed "21") arrived in NYC on the "Constanline" from Liverpool, 1 November 1853. Many immigrants traveled to Canada West via New York and by packet boat up the Erie Canal. In 1881, the family lives in Amaranth, Wellington North -- Mary Elizabeth listed age 1. There are 2 births registered for Mary Elizabeth, but no deaths. The 1901 Census address is East Garafraxa, Wellington Centre. Also in family lore, was that they were abandoned in a time of need, when eldest son, John William "took off for the states." John William Storey, his wife, Margaret and daughter Florence May, crossed the border into Canada from the states in July 1915 via Victoria BC (claiming Vancouver as their residence) but in 1930, according to the California census, he and Margaret lived on Brooklyn Avenue in Los Angeles (his occupation, manufacturer of artist's supples), where they state they emigrated from Canada in 1901.
