Obed Dawson was born August 14, 1867, ref 5438, at Ollera, New South Wales, Australia. He married 1899, at Long Ridge, New South Wales, Australia, - This is reference number 1947 to Sophia Rampling, who was the daughter of his stepmother (Obed and Sophia Dawson inherited the family property at Long Ridge). Sophia Rampling born 1866 in New South Wales and died after her husband, Obed Dawson, died, both dying at the Long Ridge Sheep Station, New South Wales, Australia. Sophia Rampling, is the daughter of Obed stepmother and the daughter of Henry Rampling and Louisa Palmer.
