• Occupation. He was a timber merchant as well as being the local Campbelltown undertaker.
He established a steam-driven sawmill in the Georges River near Kings Falls and employed severl local men to operate it. he also employed a horse teamster and a bullock driver, the horse teamster being his uncle, Will Nicol. Not long afterwards another sawmiller, Snell, set up a larger steam sawmill in the same area employing more men.
Charles married Emily Rachel Wonson, daughter of William Wonson and Emily Oxenbridge, in 1908 in Campbelltown, Sydney, NSW Australia.
