When World War II broke out,Vincent became a gunner for the Polish Navy. He spent some of his time in England where he befriended a lady in the British Air Force who was a meteorologist. "The Germans were constantly bombing England," said the 90-year-old veteran. "Anytime I went to sea, I was wondering how she was doing because she was a block or two from the railroad station in Plymouth, England." In 1943, Vincent heard about the American call to serve, and applied to be transferred from the Polish Navy to the American military. After the service, Vincent took up the Lord's work, and went to college and seminary with his first wife. The first church he preached at was the Cordova church. Vincent would later return to his land of heritage, and preach to Polish people in their native tongue, in which he is fluent.
