Research Notes:
source: & Grant & Wendy who note: Just one thing I noticed \endash Arthur Ruddick Stafford married Doris Eileen Kidd. We used to call her Aunty Dos. Arthur and Doris had three children: Judith, born 15 December 1929 (she died last year), twins: Peter and Paula, born 3 February 1931. Peter is still living, but Paula committed suicide on 16 June 1967 at Neutral Bay. Aunty Dos had the remarkable talent of being able to eat a whole box of chocolates at a sitting! She was a very elegant lady and she and Arthur lived in an impressive two-storey house at Maroubra \endash we spent many Christmases there with the family. She died of bowel cancer on 2 November 1958 at Prince of Wales Hospital. Arthur joined the Australian Imperial Force, 2nd Battalion 1st Brigade AIET on 17 August 1914 at the age of 20 years and 2 months. He served at Gallipoli and received a serious wound to his face, with his nose practically blown off. This looked a little scary to me as a child, but he was a kind, gentle man and rose to a very high position in the Sydney Water Board (Chairman, or something similar).
