Thomas Kidd arrived in Australia in 1855, at the age of 31, aboard the William Miles. In his marriage transcript, Thomas' occupation is given as "flour miller" and his usual residence Newtown, NSW.
Kidd's Bakery was built in 1885 by the Davis brothers on the corner of Jamieson St and Railway Pde for Mr Kidd Snr. According to the family, Thomas Kidd was the first baker in Australia to produce biscuits in bulk quantities, even before the more famous Arnott Biscuit Factory.


Thomas married Jane Jones. (Jane Jones was born circa 1840.)
