Joseph Cave. Carpenter of Walcot [in Bath], bankruptcy advertised in the
Freemasons' Magazine 1795;5 carpenter of Walcot, bankruptcy certificate advertised
in the Bath Chronicle 1798.6 Purchased a messuage with 1 acre of land and common
of pasture in Walcot, Somerset, for £60 from John James, Elizabeth his wife, Hester
Pearce and Mary Pearce, 3 Nov. 1803.7 Carpenter, built houses on the south side of
New Bond Street in Bath (formerly Frog Lane) 1809-10.8 Builder9 of Weston Lane in
Bath, co-executor of his brother Stephen's will 1822 (in which he was given £100).
Gentleman of 3 Bloomfield Terrace, Bath 1830. Died 6 June 1836. Gentleman of Bloomfield Terrace10 in Lyncombe and Widcombe, Bath, will dated 6 Feb. 1828,
proved 18 July 1836 Episcopal Court, Wells (estate under £3,000; he had a
timberyard, house and premises at 38 Cornwall Buildings (held on lease from the
Corporation) also 35 Walcot Street and 11-14 New Bond Street, Bath). Literate.
Married Hannah … Born c.1768. Given £100 in her brother-in-law Stephen's will
1822. Executrix of her husband's will. Died 11 Sep. 1838, aged 70, at 1 Paragon
Buildings, Melcombe Regis, Dorset. Widow of 5 Elm Place in Lyncombe and
Widcombe, Bath, undated will proved 17 Nov. 1838 Consistory Episcopal Court,
Wells (estate under £600; had property at 1 Burton Street and 8 and 9 York Street,
Bath; the executor of her will was Alfred Augustus Harvey of Walcot, doctor of
medicine). Literate.
