  General Notes:

Edward and Sarah brought their family to Australia arriving in Sydney 1st April 1839 aboard the barque "Argyle". He is listed as an agriculturist, religion Methodist, aged 38, could read and write, and his native place was Tunbridge Kent.
The family however is listed as ROSS rather than ROFFE on the convictions web site passenger list and Roff on the film (991/416876).

The Argyle weighed 598 ton, her master was John Gatenby, she continued from Sydney bound for India when she stopped to rescue the crew (no lives were lost) of the "Aliquis" which was wrecked near Mt. Adolphus Island, Torres Strait in May 1839.
