On her wedding certificate to Levie there is no mention of Betje's father!!
It also says on the wedding certificate that she and her mother and mother-in-law could not sign the certificate at they couldn't write.

I know that Levy Waterman and Betsy Koekoek had other children which you can find on the Dutch Family Waterman website http://dutchfamilywaterman.co.uk/about-dutch-family-waterman/. I believe my father knew Susan and Eve Waterman quite well and also Abe Boekbinder. The Watermans were of course Dutch Jews. It seems that Betsy Koekoek was possibly born Betsy Sassieni but became estranged from the rest of the Sassieni family with he exception of her mother Dinah Sassieni http://sassienie.community.officelive.com/default.aspx who lived with her at the time of her death according to various census information. They all lived in the East End of London in what was known as the Tenterground in Spitalfields. I believe that the Watermans were descended from both ashkenazi and sephardi Jews - the latter having left Spain or Portugal and gone, perhaps via Sicily, to Holland to escape he Spanish Inquisition. The Watermans also have a connection to Lord Emanuel Shinwell who was a member of Churchill's wartime cabinet.

Betsy married Levy Abraham Waterman, son of Abraham Emanuel Waterman and Betje Abraham Gobits, on 10 Mar 1852 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland Netherlands. (Levy Abraham Waterman was born on 21 Jun 1825 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland Netherlands, died on 29 Dec 1901 in 17 Freeman St, Spitalfields, London, Middlesex England and was buried on 30 Dec 1901 in London City, Middlesex England.)
